at Boarding Area 30 minutes early. (Fares
may be subject to a fuel and/or insurance surcharge. We
are NOT Handicap Accessible, no supplemental assistance or facilities available.
Train loading area is at Vine and McGill Streets, NOT THE DEPOT! (Maps
included with ticket package.) Follow the parking signs to boarding area.

TRIP DESCRIPTIONYou will board in
Orrville on the Wheeling & Lake Erie Rwy. Branch at 245 McGill St. The excursion
will take you through the W&LE Yards and past the office complex in Brewster.
The route continues through the towns of Bolivar, Somerset, Sherrodsville,
Bowerston, Jewett to the Ohio River. In Pennsylvania you will traverse some of
the finest scenery and farmlands in the area. You will also travel through 13
tunnels and over several high bridges. Upon arrival in Rook Yard you will board
busses to transport you to Station Square for approximately three hours. The
final length of time will be announced on the train. There are numerous shopping
and lunch possibilities. Walking will be required traveling to and from the
train and busses. Coach: $109 - Premium

This event has replaced our June
“Depot Days”
Join us for
Orrville's newest citywide event. In conjunction with Main Street Orrville and
the Orrville Chamber of Commerce we will be part of the Weekend of Wheels*
celebration. We will be offering all the fun events you have come to expect from
Depot Days including train rides, track car
rides,flea market, children's activities, and museum displays. There will also
be food, music and many other activities to be enjoyed by the entirefamily. In
addition we will also be hosting a chicken barbecue on Sat. afternoon at 4:00 PM
featuring Gerber’s chicken. *For more information go to

TRIP AMENITIESThis is a weekend
package that includes rail transportation to Pittsburgh, a box lunch while
en-route, bus transfers, hotel accommodations, a dinner-dance boat cruise on
Saturday evening, and a buffet brunch on Sunday. Rail transportation only is
not available.

facility) in downtown Pittsburgh near the convention center. After checking into
your room the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Stroll down to the
Riverfront to view the river traffic, or board the subway for a self-guided tour
of Pittsburgh. In the evening you will be served a buffet dinner aboard a
“Gateway Clipper” Riverboat during a relaxing cruise along the three rivers.
Following dinner the tables will be cleared for an enjoyable evening of dancing
to a live band or just experiencing the lights and sights of Pittsburgh at

TRIP DESCRIPTIONIn cooperation
with the Wheeling and Lake Erie Rwy. We are pleased to offer our annual “Medina
Loop” / Fall Foliage excursion. This trip has become our most popular
excursion. We will pass through Amish farmland as we near Brewster, headquarters
of the W&LE Rwy. Proceeding through Navarre and Canton we will catch a glimpse
of the Goodyear blimp hanger across Wingfoot Lake near Hartville. We will view
the Ohio & Erie Canal locks in Akron and Mogadore. Just prior to our arrival in
Medina we will cross the impressive River Styx Bridge. In Medina you will unload
for lunch and shopping. The length of our stopover will be announced on the
train (approx. three hours). You will have a three or four block walk to the
restored downtown area. After our stopover you will again board the train and
will travel through Spencer and return to Orrville.Coach:

JUMPIN’
PUMPKIN SPECIAL
OCTOBER 18, 2008
In conjunction with the Mainstreet Orrville The ORHS will be participating in
the Jumpin’ Pumpkin Jamboree featuring food, adult and children’s games,
pictures, parade, pumpkin decorating contest, and many other activities. We
will be hosting a one mile round trip train ride on the Orrville Railroad
Heritage Society siding. Trains rides will depart on the hour beginning at 12:00
Noon with the last ride at 5:00 PM. The train will be leaving from and returning
to the McGill St. Siding. .Adults: $2
Children (12 and under): $1
“THE
SANTA TRAIN”
NOVEMBER 29, 2008
Our “Santa Train” trip from Orrville to Lodi and back (approx. 1˝ hours) is in
conjunction with our Annual Holiday Open House at the Depot. The train will be
leaving from and returning to the McGill St. Siding. Trips are scheduled for
10 AM, 12 Noon, 2 PM, with our last trip departing at 4 PM During this 26
mile round trip Santa will move through the train to visit with each child and
collect their Christmas lists. Each child receives a gift bag. Our concession
car will be available for light snacks and gift items. Groups who wish to be
seated together must purchase their tickets at the same time with one payment.
There are no group rates for this trip. Our coach cars accommodate approximately
50 people.Ticket for this trip will go on sale July 1, 2008. These tickets are
non-refundable. First Class: $44

Lap children, one year and under, will not
receive a gift bag.
Holiday
Open House at the Depot Saturday, November 29, 2008
Tour our Historic Depot! The
Depot will be decorated for the holidays, there will be several working train
layouts, refreshments, raffle items, raffle drawing, depot displays, and the
Gift Shop will be open. 10AM-6PM. Free Admission!

Heritage of our area is welcome! We meet at the Depot in Orrville.
Our membership is growing and we offer you a variety of activities in which you
may participate.
Our Depot is available for tours by appointment except
on days when there are other regular scheduled events. Special
