Come and enjoy a day of camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts and maybe get your hands a little dirty, too. Help spiff up the Depot in preparation for the National Train Day celebration along side Boy Scout Troop 60. Projects include Depot cleanup, site cleanup, beautifying the sign at Market Street with a new planter and paving brick work.
Lunch will be provided.

The National Train Day Celebration at the Union Depot in Orrville, Ohio. Featured will be multiple model train layouts in different scales, Operation Lifesaver and Rails to Trails of Wayne County. The Depot Gift Shop will also be open and other historic sites in Orrville may also be open for tours.

Did you miss National Train Day and seeing the N Scale layout? The Crooked River 'N' Gineers will be back at the Depot July 2 and 3. Check out this modular layout and run one of the trains. So stop by the Depot to to see the layout while in town for the July 4th Celebration.

Help spruce up the Depot before the Rib & Music Fest. We'll be fencing off the AC units, touching up the paint outside and doing some general cleaning and rearranging inside the Depot.

Sponsored by the Orrville Ministries Association, Serve the City is a single day of service for individuals to give back to your Orrville community. There will be painting and renovating projects at Orr Park, the Orrville Historical Society Manhattan Building, and the Orrville Railroad Heritage Society Union Depot as well as a school supply drive. In conjunction with the Orrville Lion’s Club Rib and Music Fest the Orrville Railroad Heritage Society will be celebrating Railroad Days at the historic Union Depot. The Depot and Gift Shop, located at 145 Depot Street in Orrville OH, will be open on Friday, August 19 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, August 20 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are pleased to welcome back the Crooked River ‘N’ Geneers and their scale model train layout. Also featured will be ORHS’ own model train display. Stop by to take a turn at the throttle to experience model railroading at its finest or visit our many exhibits of railroad history in the Depot museum. Admission to the Depot is free during Railroad Days, but donations will gladly be accepted.

As part of the Rib & Music Fest, there will be an Auto Cruise-in on Friday evening and a Rib Burn Off, Arts & Crafts Show and Kids Activities on Saturday. Live music from many genres will be performed throughout the event.

Come help to to keep the DABO property clear. We'll be working on weed and brush clearance, a bit of painting and possibly some track work. We'll need weed wackers, rakes and a chainsaw or two for brush and small tree clearance. For painting, we'll need paint brushes, wire brushes and ladders. For track work, a hard hat and steel-toed shoes are necessary. Please wear long pants and heavy shoes or boots.
This work will help facilitate the future use of the property for ORHS activities and events.
